Larch's grain is so beautifully pronounced it looks like it's been drawn on.  It's so rare here this is probably the only larch timber we'll ever see at Fair Wood.

Characteristics: a very dense and hard wood - along with Yew, Larch is one of the heaviest and hardest domestic softwoods. Extremely weather-resistant and durable. It turns, planes and shapes well, and can be sanded to a smooth finish
